ABOUT ME; Rachael Batka/Cuttle Cactus ArtsPassionate Explorer of the Visual Arts15 years ago, an invitation to start painting lessons with a skilled artist pivoted my heart towards a passion for the arts that has become a lifelong love.
I consider myself a painter and drawer with specific interest in the human form. I'm fond of working with ink and my portfolio is full of the material in various forms. I earned my bachelors in Art Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 and since then I have had many unique career experiences with children and the arts. I'm currently an instructor at the Art Student League of Denver for both children and adults. It has been an incredibly fun experience that has given me a chance to grow as a teacher and artist. In 2021 I decided to pursue a long-time interest in Art Conservation and go back to school with the goal of having a career in the field. The last few semesters I have dedicated my time to every artists' worst nightmare: science. Although it has been an intense process working through the science courses, I'm enjoying becoming multidisciplinary. My artistic road has been a windy one but with every new opportunity I fall deeper in love with the arts. I found a soulmate in the arts that I hope to share with as many people as possible.
